About the
School
The French
Formula Language School was established here in Melbourne in February
2001. Since that time, we have delivered a wide range of courses
to hundreds of students from diverse backgrounds. You can read
some of our customer feedback here.
Your Teacher
| Emmanuelle Missios is a
French native speaker who has
been teaching French as a Foreign Language for the past 15 years.
Before moving to
Australia, Emmanuelle taught French in Scotland and France and also
worked as a chef. Her passion for food is something she
loves to share with her students as part of their French
studies. Generally these French
cooking sessions can be arranged as a fun end of term
activity.

Her academic qualifications include Masters Degrees
in Teaching French as a Foreign Language and French Literature and has completed specialist studies in Computer
Assisted Language Learning. She is also a Victorian
Government accredited trainer.
In addition to teaching the French language,
Emmanuelle places
great emphasis on the study of French culture through its food, art
and literature.
Over the past
three years, French Formula success led us to hire qualified teachers,
sharing our views about teaching, our enthusiasm and our
professionalism. You can read some feedback about them as well below.
Customer Feedback
I had the pleasure of having Emmanuelle as my instructor in French
for four weeks in December 2001, just prior to my transfer to
Paris. I received fairly intensive training for 2 hours per day 4
times per week. I particularly enjoyed the lessons with
Emmanuelle. She made them interesting, engaged in frequent
conversational French and explained things in a pedagogic and clear
manner. I thought that the ground we covered in a short period of
time was surprising. I had not expected to learn so
much.

I recently attended French
for Travellers course. I would like to commend the teacher Emmanuelle Missios. Although I had absolutely no French language
experience before the course and found the content challenging,
Emmanuelle's handouts, homework and CD helped me to revise with
confidence.
I particularly valued
having a native French speaking teacher and the inclusion of cultural
content and useful travel tips. Using the practical 'Lonely
Planet' text will help me to link the course learning to my travel
experience in a useful way.

Dear
Emmanuelle,
Thank you for the energy, fun
and education you have put into teaching me over the past
months. As one with poor language skills I was daunted by the
prospect of learning a language in a class environment but I have
really enjoyed it. Best
wishes... Neil C,

Attention to
every individual, homework correction, accessibility by email, useful
tips and tricks. Emmanuelle 'provides' well beyond what can be
reasonably expected.

I
have really appreciated the one-on-one help and assistance that Emmanuelle
has given me. I have found that she has been excellent at helping me
with the particular area's I find difficult, and helping me to extend
my knowledge.
I have really appreciated the hard work and dedication that I
know she has put in outside of the class, as well as in, and I
appreciate the planning she does prior to the class. I really like the
group of people in our class, and find that we get on very well with
each other (I think we are very lucky). I enjoy the enthusiasm that
Emmanuelle brings to the class, and enjoy the range of activities
provided for us to practise French! I am very satisfied with the
course, I will absolutely be re-enrolling, I won’t stop until I AM a
French person!

What
do we find
most valuable about this course? The style of teaching - we find it a
very positive, constructive and supportive learning environment with
an excellent teacher.

About
our teachers
I
really like Sabrina's professionalism.
She
is always well prepared. The
verbal practice is very useful because we can practice both
structure/grammar and the pronunciation, which is my weak point.

The
teacher ( Chantal ) is very committed and a talented
facilitator/teacher.
She has high expectations and standards which makes the class
worthwhile and productive.
I feel like I am getting the most out of the content that she
covers in each class.
Well done Emmanuelle - you run a very professional program and
I am pleased to have joined the classes.

I
really enjoyed the extra
little stories our native French teacher (Mandy) was able to tell us.
That give us an insight into French culture and language.
I also found very valuable the
teacher's and students' enthusiasm and dedication.

Extremely good
news....I got an ENTER score of 96.45!!!!!!!! I am absolutely
ecstatic! For French I got an overall A+ for my SACs; an A+ for the
oral exam (which I am absolutely thrilled about!); and an A for the
exam (I'm not really sure how I managed that!). My raw study score for
French was 38, but it got scaled up to 47! So I am incredibly happy
and rather surprised! I also won the Subject Prize for French at
school (a beautiful Provence cookbook), meaning that I achieved the
best results in my French class. Overall a fabulous surprise and
brilliant recognition of the work we did all year. Thank you so much
for your help. Hope you are well, Mattie
